THE butterfly and sage learning
I chose the butterfly for the picture on my website as a result of its symbolism and personal connections. It symbolizes endurance, transformation, hope, growth, creativity and so much more, and I am constantly reminded of the cycles that a butterfly goes through to acquire growth and attain wings in order to fly. The SAGE coaching framework has four major elements that profoundly impact coaching, teaching and learning, the same number of stages that the butterfly takes to transform. Additionally, as I start a new journey in education as an instructional coach, the butterfly signifies transformation and the connection to the magical and angelic forces that will guide this journey. It will constantly remind me of my goal and mission to support all teachers by using unique methods and allowing time for them to work through their stages to develop even stronger wings to fly so their uniqueness and talent will shine.
I also have personal reasons for choosing the butterfly for this site and these are as follows; I grew up singing "Pretty Little Butterfly What You Do All Day" and loved watching butterflies fly around and sit on flowers! It was very relaxing and soothing and I love how the butterfly can fly to any height it so desires. Also, my wife's grandma, who she was very close to, loved butterflies and had countless butterfly items. Sadly, she passed away on June 8th, 2016, but I feel very fortunate to have met and spent time with her! The butterfly selection for this website connects and reminds my wife, Melanie Gildharry and I even more that she is always watching over us!
Soon after selecting the butterfly as the picture for my website, I found the ornament below which I had to buy! This reinforced the intensity of the impact and the magic that will happen!
