workshop PRESENTEr - iowa
East High School - 2015-2016
During the 2015-2016 school year, I served on the school leadership team and was required to present with a team of teachers on integrating ELL strategies to impact student engagement and learning. We collaborated well as a team and met before and after each presentation to plan. Since I love creating, I was in charge of putting together the PowerPoints which are shown below.

Technology Integration and Blending Learning Using TES Teach Blendspace and Thinglink and Weebly
dmps school district workshop - June 2017
Technology Integration and Blending Learning Using TES Teach Blendspace and Thinglink
This session will provide participants with the ways that I have used Blendspace, Thinglink and Weebly to differentiate instruction in Math and meet the learning styles and needs of my English Language Learners. I will share specific information on how I have organized and aligned units and tasks to learning goals by using Blendspace, a platform that is extremely user friendly and seamlessly allows teachers to scaffold, differentiate and personalize learning. Learners will also gain knowledge on how to create a ThingLink, an interactive software, and embed this into Blendspace. Additionally, participants will gain a deeper insight into how my students have represented their learning through the development of Weebly websites, and spend time developing their metacognitive and synthesis skills as a result of website creations. In this session, participants will be given the opportunity to explore tools that they are interested in, examine student work, ask questions and engage in any other method of learning that meets their needs.~ Cherry-Anne Gildharry

Presentation Description
In teaching math to English Language Learners, I need to find ways to differentiate learning and provide students with a platform that allows them continuous access to aligned lessons. Blendspace lets me seamlessly differentiate instruction to meet the needs of my ELL students as it allows students to access information any time, any place and work at their own pace on an individual path. With access to YouTube, Google, Google Drive, and other features, I can design lessons and create assessments to gauge student understanding. ThingLink is another tool that allows me to be creative in designing lessons by using interactive graphics related to content or students’ interests to scaffold and differentiate learning. This year, along with the continuing use of Blendspace and ThingLink, my ELL Math 111 students are creating websites in which they will provide multiple creative artifacts to demonstrate proficiency and extend learning related to objectives or units.
During this session, I will share information on how I use Blendspace to organize units and tasks and align these to learning goals. I will also demonstrate how to create a ThingLink and embed this into Blendspace. Additionally, participants will get an insight in to how my students are developing their websites and an idea of the tasks that I create for them to use other technology tools such as VoiceThread, Padlet, Blendspace, ThingLink and Prezi to represent knowledge gained. In this session, participants will also be given the opportunity to explore tools that they are interested in.
